Reservations, Bookings and Payments

Once a verbal or emailed reservation is made, we hold that week for you for 10 days, giving you time to transfer the booking deposit into our bank. Notes
What to Bring
Bear in mind that July and August can be quite hot, and that it can rain at any time of the year (guest umbrellas carried on board!) The atmosphere on board is generally quite informal, and guests prefer to dress in a “casual and comfortable” style. Walking shoes are suggested for some excursions, for walking the towpath, and for cycling. We have good first aid provisions on board – no need to bring a first aid kit. Do not forget sunglasses, sun lotion, a wide-brimmed hat and a camera.
First Names
Normally, guests’ first names are used on board the Saint Louis. If you would prefer that the Captain and crew address you more formally, please let us know before you arrive.
Smoking
In the interests of comfort and safety, smoking is not allowed below decks, or in the vehicle.
Gratuities
Many guests like to show their appreciation of the crew by leaving a tip – this is entirely discretionary.
The Charter Price does not include:
- Airfares to France
- Travel within France to our agreed meeting place
- Cancellation and travel insurance (strongly recommended)
- Health / accident insurance (strongly recommended)
- Any drinks, snacks or sweets you might choose to buy while ashore
- Sundry purchases and personal items
- Activities outside the charter itself – for example, Green fees, club hire, etc.
